On September 7, Bruker announced its collaboration with a community of researchers from European academia and industry as part of the PANACEA project. The aim of the project is to build a trans-national network of multi-disciplinary chemists in need of cutting-edge instrumentation and technical expertise in solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). This will enable the development of modern chemistry methods that rely on the analysis of increasingly complex solid substrates in cross-discipline research areas from polymers to pharmaceutical formulations and medical implants.
SIGA Announces BARDA Exercise of Procurement Option Valued at $112.5 Million for Oral TPOXX
On 13 September, SIGA announced the exercise of a procurement option under its 75A50118C00019 (19C) contract with Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), part of the office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the delivery of oral TPOXX® treatment courses valued at approximately $112.5 million to the U.S. government. Product deliveries in connection with the option exercise are targeted for 2021
On 3 September, Observis announced that the National Police Board of Finland has selected uthe company as their supplier of dosimeters and spectroscopic radiation detectors with our unique ObSAS Link technology. ObSAS Link provides real-time data transmission to reach-back center at the Finnish Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority STUK.
On 9 September, Observis announced that they have been working with Teledyne FLIR to strenghten their presence in Finland and will be representing their CBRNe products as well as take care of any maintenance the devices might new.
On 2 September, Metrohm launched the Fluoride ISE, a dedicated sensor for selective measurements of fluoride. The new sensor combines the measuring electrode, the reference electrode, and a temperature sensor in a space saving design making it ideal for measurements in small sample volumes. The new sensor is available both in an analog and a digital version.
On 15 September, Metrohm launched the MIRA XTR DS handled Raman spectrometer. According to Metrohm, the MIRA XTR DS can identify more than 20.000 of unknowns in the field and is the most compact handheld Raman spectrometer on the market with the capability to deal with substances emitting fluorescence.
On 14 September, Emergent BioSolutions Inc. and Providence Therapeutics announced they have entered into a five-year contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) services agreement spanning Emergent’s integrated capabilities, including development services, bulk drug substance formulation and drug product manufacturing, to support Providence’s COVID-19 messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine development. In 2022, Emergent will manufacture tens of millions of doses of PTX-COVID19-B drug product, as well as batches of PTX-COVID19-B formulated bulk drug substance with the potential to yield hundreds of millions more doses, for global populations in need of pandemic relief.
On 2 September, Agilent Technologies Inc. announced the signing of a worldwide distribution agreement with Visiopharm, enabling Agilent to co-market Visiopharm’s portfolio of CE-IVD marked artificial intelligence (AI)-driven precision pathology software in addition to Agilent’s portfolio of automated pathology staining solutions.
