In 2022, Bertin Technologies will supply its partner Fusion For Energy (F4E) with the prototypes of an In-Vessel Viewing System dedicated to the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor ITER project. Its mission: visualize and control ITER Tokamak’s walls. ITER is the largest Tokamak in the world: an experimental machine designed to determine the technical and scientific feasibility of fusion energy as a large-scale, carbon-free source of energy for electricity production purposes.

Bruker announced on October 18th the release of the large-sample Dimension IconIR nanoscale infrared spectroscopy and chemical imaging system. It combines Bruker’s industry-leading Dimension Icon AFM and nanoIR photothermal AFM-IR technology to establish new standards in chemical and material property mapping with sub-10nm chemical imaging resolution. To meet the need for safe, effective, and reliable non-invasive ventilation (NIV) throughout the care continuum, Dräger has launched the new Savina 300 NIV, the latest ventilator in its Savina 300 family of ventilators. Built to Dräger’s exceptionally high standards and backed by its 100+ years of experience in mechanical ventilation, the Savina 300 NIV features automatic leakage compensation to deliver consistent prescribed settings when faced with patient interface leaks. Its built-in turbine with rapid response time and external battery allows operation independent from the central gas supply to facilitate care continuity during patient transfers.

Emergent BioSolutions Inc. announced on October 15th the first participant dosed in its pivotal phase 3 study evaluating the safety and immunogenicity of the company’s investigational chikungunya virus (CHIKV) virus-like particle (VLP) vaccine candidate, CHIKV VLP, in a single dose. CHIKV VLP is the only VLP-based vaccine currently in clinical development for active immunization against chikungunya disease.

Environics has signed a remarkable agreement with Kership, a subsidiary of the shipyards Naval Group and Piriou, for supplying CRN detection systems for twelve Mine Counter Measure vessels ordered by the Belgian and the Royal Netherlands Navy, through the consortium Belgium Naval & Robotics. The deliveries will start in 2022 and will go on until 2028. The MCM program will replace the current minehunters with state-of-the-art MCM vessels of the latest generation, including a specific toolbox for unmanned systems.

Teledyne FLIR, part of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated, announced on October 12th the launch of the ION™ M640x tactical Unmanned Aerial System (UAS). Since the emergence of SARS-CoV-2, public health laboratories and researchers have been developing surveillance methods using wastewater to control the spread of COVID-19. The effort has helped identify asymptomatic carriers on college campuses to monitor regional spread among communities and capture emerging mutations ahead of potential future outbreaks. DOK-ING participated in the Adriatic Sea Defense & Aerospace – ASDA 2021 exhibition, which took place from September 29th to October 1st in Split, Croatia.
