Volunteer, Medical and Disaster Trainers – International Medical Corps (Ukraine)

Job Summary: International Medical Corps has been asked by the Ukrainian Ministry of Health to provide a comprehensive training curriculum to hospitals, clinicians, and the community in Ukraine, in six areas (including CBRNE). The volunteer will be part of a rotation of trainers that conduct trainings at multiple different venues throughout Ukraine on one of the above topics. The goal is to deliver engaging, interactive, hands-on training to medical and laypeople that is based on proven modalities and in which student comprehension and progress are evaluated and nurtured.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver in-person lectures/trainings for up to 50 participants per session
  • Facilitate small group sessions
  • Answer questions from participants
  • Manage hands-on skills stations
  • Evaluate participant comprehension and progress and determine competency using pre-defined metrics

Job Summary: The Cluster aims to cover the whole spectrum of arms control, disarmament, and non-proliferation (nuclear, chemical, biological, and conventional weapons) as well as addresses inter-relationships with other transnational challenges such as terrorism, organized crime, pandemics, or the climate crisis. Responsibilities:

  • Leading and coordinating the design, development and substantive preparation, implementation, and follow-up of a wide range of Cluster and project activities. Expand the pool of external experts, plan and coordinate their input into the Cluster’s activities
  • Guiding, drafting, and editing policy papers, background documents, and training materials as well as carrying out research on a diverse range of Cluster-related issues, including collecting, analysing and presenting findings and other information
  • Establishing and building relevant networks and partnerships as well as maintaining relations with GCSP stakeholders and providing advice to these actors

Technical Field Manager WAM (Weapon and Ammunition Management) - Mines Advisory Group (Sri Lanka)

Job Summary:

This role focuses on armoury construction and refurbishment for Small Arms and Light Weapons and training national security forces in those domains. The successful candidate must be EOD Level 3 qualified, as well qualified and experienced in WAM work. However, we will also consider applications from candidates who have gained the relevant technical skills within the military, providing they are qualified to EOD Level 3 standards. Experience in Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW) and/or bulk demolitions will be advantageous. Successful candidates will need excellent diplomacy and liaison skills to effectively build relationships with partners, local authorities and security forces. It is also crucial that the candidate is self-reliant and holds a high level of initiative. Fluent written and spoken English language skills are essential.

Operation senior assistant – UNOPS (Mogadishu, Somalia)

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate would have relevant experience is defined as experience in administration, liaison, project or programme management, project or programme development, or coordination supporting operations in a humanitarian, conflict, post-conflict, development contexts or NGOs at the national or international level. Experience in report writing and computer Literacy are required, as well as fluency in English and Somali. Experience with NO, UN or UNOPS is not required.

Weapon Contamination Medical Specialist for Emergency Operations – ICRC (Global Deployment Option)

Job Summary: You are medical doctor with a specialization in Anesthesia/ Resuscitation, intensive care, prehospital medicine, or emergency medicine with experience in the treatment of victims with blast injuries and knowledge of the treatment of patients with HAZMAT/CBRN exposure. Alternatively, you are a medical toxicologist and have both clinical and advisory experience. You have familiarity with curriculum design and development as well as confirmed operational experience in the subject area. You possess an experience in teaching, with instructor certification from a recognized health civilian or military institution. You are motivated to engage in capacity building overseas in unstable security situations and low resource settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct classroom teaching and instructing, exercises, and moulage in accordance with the guidelines and directives set forth for standardized course packages on the effects and treatment of explosive injuries and HAZMAT/CBRN exposures
  • Contribute, as part of the WeC medical team, to the training courses (both conventional and non-conventional topics) and provide support in their implementation
  • Ensure that the ICRC approved training materials are used as official presentations in the delivery of ICRC Blast Trauma Course and CBRN course, and to that end, liaise with the Medical Advisor based in Geneva on all aspects of training
  • Provide medical expertise on the health impact (at an individual, group, or community level) in case of CBRN threat
  • Deliver written briefings and recommendations relating to such ICRC operations to collaborators (Medical Advisor and CBRN Head of Sector and Head of Unit) in the effort to support continuum of updates regarding the medical documentation files
