Seconded National Expert in the CBRN & Explosives Team, ECTC Expertise & Stakeholder Management Unit – Europol

Job Summary:

The SNE will contribute to the work of the team by providing expertise related to explosives, explosive precursors, improvised explosives devices, military ordnance and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) materials. The SNE will report to and work under the supervision of the Head of the CBRN & Explosives Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft assessments and reports related to explosives, improvised explosive devices (IED) and/or Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) related incidents, threats and developments
  • Manage the Europol Platform for Experts - European Bomb Data System (EPE/EBDS) and the Europol Platform for Experts - European EOD Network (EPE/EEODN)
  • Monitor OSINT and draft ad hoc documents and reports
  • Participate in Europol projects in the explosives and/or CBRN domain, contributing to the production of Europol specialized reports as well as other products and services
  • Exchange relevant information with partners in a timely manner and participate in ECTC operations activities

Job Summary:

Performs surveillance inspection work at the Blue Grass Chemical Activity (BGCA) during the storage, shipment, maintenance, demilitarization, and destruction of chemical munitions including GB, VX, and H.

Responsibilities:

  • Mix various types of chemical and compounds which are used in the neutralization of toxic chemicals (liquid and/or vapor)
