Agilent Ranks No. 2 on Barron’s List of America’s Most Sustainable Companies

Agilent Technologies Inc. has earned the number two position on Barron’s annual list of America’s Most Sustainable Companies. The ranking marks the third straight year Agilent has been included among the top three Most Sustainable Companies. Agilent has also received the number one ranking in the life sciences industry for each of the four years the Barron’s ranking has been compiled. Agilent Announces Higher-Sensitivity XF Analysis Solution for Low Abundant Immune Cell Metabolic Analysis

Agilent Technologies Inc. today introduced the Agilent Seahorse XF HS Miniplate designed specifically for the Agilent Seahorse XF HS Mini Analyzer for improved immune cell metabolic analysis. The XF HS Mini is the latest addition to Agilent’s range of Seahorse XF platforms, which analyze mitochondrial respiration, glycolysis, and ATP production in live cells, in real-time. These metabolic measurements enable researchers to better understand cell health, function, and signaling.

Thermo Fisher Scientific Launches CE-IVD-Marked High Throughput COVID-19 Diagnostic Assay for Use On Its Automated Amplitude Platform

Thermo Fisher Scientific launched the CE-IVD-Marked, Applied Biosystems TaqPath COVID–19 HT Kit that is compatible with the Amplitude platform. The high-throughput solution enables clinical and public health laboratories to efficiently test up to 8,000 COVID-19 samples a day with fewer staffing requirements and a reliable supply of kits, reagents and consumables. The highly automated Amplitude platform is a molecular diagnostic system that allows labs to increase their COVID-19 testing capacity by combining Thermo Fisher's extraction and real-time PCR instruments with liquid handling products from Tecan Group.

Major CBRN Training for the Finnish Navy by Environics

Training Manager and CBRN Specialist, Toni Leikas conducted an onsite training for the Finnish Navy, a branch of the Finnish Defence Forces, at the Pansio naval base located in Turku, on the 10th of February 2021. This training takes place after a mid-life upgrade on Environics CBRN threat protection systems implemented to 3 multipurpose mine countermeasure vessels (MCMVs). Therefore, it consisted of a triple session, covering Naval & Maritime CBRN Monitoring system training, and specific user and maintenance trainings for the system’s components: ENVI BioScout, ChemProFX, Master Module, and the latest version of dedicated CBRN System Software – EnviScreen Operix 2020.

Bruker Establishes New Customer Support Center in the Middle East at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology Research Park

Bruker Corporation and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) jointly announced the establishment of the Bruker Arabia office at the KAUST Research and Technology Park, furthering the trusted partnership between the two organizations. The University’s partnership with Bruker began more than a decade ago, with Bruker a key partner in equipping the KAUST laboratories. Over the years, the relationship has grown successfully in the field of nuclear magnetic resonance, leading to the establishment of the KAUST-Bruker Center of Excellence (CoE) for Magnetic Resonance in 2018 within the University’s Core Laboratories.

Decon7 Systems Announces TX Relocation

Decon7 Systems announced that it has relocated from Scottsdale, Arizona, to Dallas, Texas, as of February 11, 2021. Dallas provides access to additional highly qualified industry experts in the region, along with the opportunity to grow exponentially within the established chemical manufacturing industry. The Texas facility is a new construction, which allowed us to fully design the interior to our specifications. The space is 30,000 square feet, with 7,000 dedicated to office space and the remaining 23,000 for the warehouse. Within the office area, a laboratory has been built that will expand the R&D process, as well as allow for expedited testing as we continue to develop our labels.

Humanigen and Emergent BioSolutions Announce Contract Development and Manufacturing Agreement for Phase 3 COVID-19 Therapeutic Candidate Lenzilumab™

Emergent BioSolutions Inc. and Humanigen, Inc. announced that they have entered into a contract development and manufacturing (CDMO) services agreement to accelerate the drug product manufacturing of lenzilumab™, an anti-human granulocyte macrophage-colony stimulating factor (GM-CSF) monoclonal antibody designed to prevent and treat an immune hyper-response called “cytokine storm.”

FDA Grants Emergency Use Authorization for New COVID-19, Flu A, Flu B Combo Kit from Thermo Fisher

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted emergency use authorization (EUA) for the Applied Biosystems TaqPath COVID-19, Flu A, Flu B Combo Kit from Thermo Fisher Scientific, the company announced today. The TaqPath COVID-19, Flu A, Flu B Combo Kit is a real-time PCR test for the detection and differentiation of RNA from the SARS-CoV2, influenza A and influenza B viruses in nasopharyngeal and nasal swabs.
